A Roundtable Discussion on Human Rights and the Extractive Sector was held on 21st May 2014 at the PanAfric hotel in Nairobi. The Discussion facilitated a constructive dialogue with key stakeholders with a view to generate knowledge and establish synergies on their respective approaches, results and lessons learnt with respect to the extract sector and human rights, environmental and/or social impacts. The Roundtable Discussion also aimed at adding to the ongoing discussions by various actors on avenues for institutionalization of a homogenous policy of responsible extractive operations within the Kenyan context.
