Following the shortlisting by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) for applicants for the position of Chief Justice (CJ), Deputy Chief Justice (DCJ) and a Judge of the Supreme Court, Katiba Institute, on July  together with the International Commission of Jurist (Kenya Section) wrote to the JSC seeking information on the criteria employed to shortlist the applicants. KI is also seeking information from JSC on the reasons why those shortlisted were shortlisted as well as the reason why the unsuccessful applicants were rejected.
