KI Research on Enhancing Inclusion of Ethnic Communities in Kenya
Katiba Institute, with support from Uraia Trust, is conducting a research on claims by ethnic minorities and marginalised communities in Kenya on political and other governance processes and available platforms for their participation under the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
The study will include development of a book and policy briefs; training of KI partners; civic education among others.
The study involves visiting various counties to meet with representatives from various ethnic communities, with special emphasis on intra-county minorities and marginalised communities – this also includes national minorities and marginalised communities.
We have visited all the selected counties and currently compiling the findings. The counties are Isiolo, Migori, Busia, Turkana, Kwale, Narok, Elgeyo Marakwet, Baringo, Bungoma, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu, Nakuru, Laikipia, Makueni and Nairobi.
