Katiba Institute admitted as Amicus Curiae in LGBTQ cases

Today, Katiba Institute was admitted as an Amicus Curiae in two cases filed by members of the LGBTQ community at the High Court. Katiba Institute was admitted into the cases on the basis of its expertise in constitutional law. The cases seek to challenge Section 162 of the Penal Code that outlaws having carnal knowledge against the order of nature. That section has been used by the police to charge persons suspected to be gay with criminal offences.
