Today Justice mativo of the High Court siotting in Milimani, Nairobi issued a judgment declaring as illegal the decision by the Government of Kenya to shut down refugee camps. The judge in agreeing with the petitioners, found that the decision was steeped in unconstitutionality and it flew in the face of international instruments that Kenya has adopted and is party to. The decision would have seen hundred of thousands of refugees forcefully returned to their mother countries whcih are often volatile conflict zones.
